ESTONIA Mittetulundusühing Uus Sild
NGO Uus Sild provides various basic and vocational trainings in order to support better social inclusion of risk groups (drug addicted, former prisoners, long-term unemployed, people with special needs, etc.). The work is mostly financed by various European and national projects. Our activities include organisation of work clubs and exercises, career counselling and psychological consultations.
We are a small training organisation with four full-time employees and external experts, who are invited for teaching and consulting, but we organise training for more that 300 adult learners per year and we have more and more people wishing to attend our courses.
In year 2012 NGO Uus Sild received an award of "The best partner of Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund (Eesti Töötukassa) in Ida-Virumaa".
Our international experience is quite modest and so far we had only one international project which allowed us to arrange work placements of our learners in Germany and Italy (Leonardo da Vinci PLM project).
We are ready to become the project coordinator, test our knowledge and skills and improve our international competence in cooperation with other partners.
NGO Uus Sild is located in the town of Narva on the border of the EU and Russian Federation. Our learners are mostly Russian speaking unemployed people at risk of social exclusion. Many years ago they were brought to Estonia for working in building, power engineering and textile companies, but after bankrupting of their enterprises and due to their age they became unemployed.
